Spraying fertilizer certainly increases the yield of the fields, but at the expense of the pond where the farm animals drink. Runoff of nitrogen is fouling the water.

How to protect the pond? The problem is caused by a top-down intervention, so maybe it can be cured by another one. In this case, however, the problem has been solved from the bottom up. Girdling the fields with an optimized prairie grass solves the problem and allows the pond to recover.
